Seminar Overview

Our Field Sports Training Seminar is tailored for handlers aiming to train their dogs as hunting companions or engage family dogs in field sports activities. This program is ideal for sporting breeds eager to fulfill their natural instincts, regardless of hunting experience. Led by Inga From, a certified dog behavior consultant and professional dog trainer, the seminar emphasizes positive reinforcement techniques, eliminating the need for force-fetch training or e-collars.

  • Two-Day Working Spot (One Handler & One Dog): $335 ($300 Early Registration by March 1st)
  • Team Discount (Two Handlers & One Dog): $370 ($335 Early Registration by March 1st)
  • Two-Day Auditor/Observer (No Dog): $215 ($180 Early Registration by March 1st)

Instructor Profile
​Inga From is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) and Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KSA) specializing in gun dogs, field dogs, shed hunting dogs, and Forage & Field Dogs (morel mushroom hunting dogs). She has over a decade of experience training sporting breeds for retrieving, scent work, and field sports using positive reinforcement methods—no e-collars or force-fetch training.
Inga has worked extensively with sporting breeds, scent detection dogs, and working dogs across various disciplines. She studied detection dog training in India and applies real-world experience to help handlers train their dogs for practical fieldwork, competition, and adventure. Her approach ensures that dogs develop confidence, drive, and reliability in the field—while strengthening their bond with their handler.

Participant Requirements


  • Dogs: Minimum 4 months old, up-to-date on vaccinations (Bordetella & tick prevention recommended), in good physical condition.
  • Handlers: Ability to walk on uneven terrain; familiarity with basic obedience commands preferred.
  • Equipment: Bring a crate, water bowl, treats, whistle, and retrieving dummies.
  • Note: Aggressive or reactive dogs are not permitted.

Notes for all participants:

–This is an semi indoor & outdoor seminar. 
- All participants on site must be 12 years of age or over.
- All participants will be required to sign a waiver at check in.
- Please contact us for a list of dog friendly accommodations near the seminar. 
- CEUs for the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) are approved.


Requirements for participating dogs:

 - Dogs must be at least 4 months of age, be up to date on vaccinations (Bordetella & canine tick preventative highly advised).  Dogs should also be in good physical condition.  
- Adult dogs must be able to work intensively throughout the day and should be able to carry out their basic manners tasks (loose leash walking, sit, stay and recall)
-Previous positive training classes (manners/obedience) recommended but not required.
- Participants must provide their own whistles, retrieving dummies and treat rewards for their dogs. Please bring a lot of treats – you’ll need them. 
- Please bring a crate/kennel and water bowl for your dog and any other supplies your dog will require to handle the stress and excitement of the weekend.
- Barking dogs will be asked to quiet or leave. 
- Aggressive/reactive dogs are not to be allowed on training grounds.  
- Choke chains, prong collars and shock collars are not used on any dogs participating.  Leave at home if you have these products.  
- If you are signed up as “team special” you may bring more then one dog to the seminar but you will only be able to work one dog at a time.
- Handler and dog must be able to walk on uneven, unpaved surfaces including grassy field areas.  Human participants may do a lot of standing and walking.
- Sunday will be mostly outside. 
-We reserve the right to dismiss your dog if it poses a safety risk or creates a significant distraction which prevents others from learning.

NOTE: 

-You are not officially registered until we have received payment in full and you have received a confirmation e-mail.
-You can make a non-refundable $100 deposit to save your spot at the seminar until March 1st and then payments must be made in full.
- All registrations are final and any changes or substitutions will be allowed exclusively at the discretion of the seminar hosts.  Please contact us immediately if something comes up with your dog to insure the greatest chance of us finding a mutually beneficial arrangement.
